  • Chips
  • Cracks
  • Stains and discolorations
  • Wide spaces and other misalignments
  • Unusually shaped teeth

Tooth-colored materials can be attached (bonded) to a tooth surface to improve the appearance of teeth with any of these issues. Bonding is a conservative method to enhance your smile, where the imperfections are not major ones.

Would you like to eliminate the unsightly gap between your teeth? How about eliminating the chipped, cracked, or stained imperfections on your teeth while still keeping your own tooth? We have the solution, and it can be accomplished in one easy visit to our beautiful office in the Pike Creek area, just a short drive south of Wilmington.

Your tooth may benefit from bonding, a process in which tooth-colored materials are applied, or bonded, to the tooth surface. Intrigued? Read on!

Frequently Asked Questions

dental bonding | cosmetic bonding | wilmington deThe appearance of teeth can be improved in several ways. One of them is cosmetic resin bonding. It will give you immediate results, but it may chip and stain over time and it has a limited life expectancy.

Veneers are a better option. Made from strong, durable dental porcelain, veneers are bonded securely to the fronts of your teeth for beautiful finished results. While veneers aren’t right for everybody, they can be an excellent solution to a range of common cosmetic concerns, including:

  • Wide spaces between the teeth
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Stained or discolored teeth
  • Uneven or crooked teeth

Dental Bonding Explained

Bonding is a technique that restores chipped, cracked, misaligned, or discolored teeth. An enamel-like resin is sculpted to the tooth to rebuild it. In this way, gaps in teeth can be closed, chips can be built up, and your tooth can be restored to enhance your smile.

With the proper care, a bonded tooth can last three to five years before it needs to be touched up to correct wear or discoloration.

Brighten Your Smile with Veneers in Wilmington

Veneers are thin sheets of ceramic that are also bonded to the teeth but last much longer, usually eight to twelve years. They look like your natural teeth without the imperfections. Your existing tooth surface will need to be prepared, or etched, to accept the veneers in Wilmington, which will be extremely durable. The final result is one of a natural, beautiful translucency that will give you a perfect smile.

Cosmetic Dentistry in Wilmington DEAbsolutely – a nice smile is a key part of looking and feeling your best. It even adds to your self-confidence and self-esteem. You see, excessively worn front teeth age a smile (some may even suspect you wear a denture!). They often chip and crack, leaving uneven edges. Worn teeth can be lengthened and chipped or damaged areas corrected using advanced dental materials.

When Is Dental Bonding in Wilmington Appropriate?

If you have chips, cracks, discoloration, wide spaces, short, or unusually shaped teeth, dental bonding might be a great choice for us to consider. We also recommend dental bonding to protect exposed tooth roots caused by gum recessions.

Very little advance preparation is needed to prepare the tooth, and the process is so comfortable that anesthesia is often not necessary. Dr. Gladnick is adept at selecting the perfect resin shade for your tooth – no one will ever know that your tooth was bonded!

Now for the bonding process – the surface of the tooth will be slightly roughened to accept a conditioning liquid. This will enable the bonding material to adhere to the tooth. The bonding material is a putty-like substance that Dr. Gladnick molds to the desired shape. The material is then hardened with a halogen light. Finally, Dr. Gladnick will finesse the hardened material to match the sheen of the rest of the tooth’s surface. And here is the best part: Time-to-completion. In most cases, we can complete the bonding process in just an hour or less per tooth.

Advantages of Dental Bonding in Wilmington

Bonding is comfortable, fast, and considerably less costly than other popular cosmetic dentistry procedures. We can usually complete the process in just a single office visit (unless we are treating multiple teeth). Unlike other procedures such as veneers and crowns, very little tooth surface is removed.
